Challenges in our business (& life!)
Yesterday I was having a call with my book mentor discussing the actions required for my next book. She enquired as to why I hadn’t done an obvious step. I told her I didn’t know why and when we explored it a little more I got slightly tearful about it.
Later, it came to me that although I am excited and motivated to write the next book as I am really passionate about the subject matter, I am also quite discouraged by it for two reasons. I have been thinking back to all the challenges I had with the other books (and I really don’t want to go through those again). Also, on a more personal note, I am writing about something that is even closer to home than Successful Business Minds was.
I then came across a video on Facebook that resonated with me, and since I shared it, it has resonated with a few others too. It reminded me that our challenges make us stronger and that we are capable of overcoming them, somehow… Additionally, in time, hopefully we see how those challenges shaped us and can inspire others.
This resonated because it’s the very thing I write about and help my clients with.
Myself, most of my clients and those in my network are running a business doing something that they are good at because they have learnt the hard way. They have experienced it, ‘got the t-shirt’ and are now in business helping others.
I discuss in Successful Business Minds how I was unable to be open about my own finances without being embarrasssed or frustrated. I then mention a couple of events that eventually propelled me into doing something about it.
I will be going into more detail as to how this happened on a personal level in my next book because I want to help you, and others, yet it’s challenging to write about it. However, my why is strong and it will keep me going, just like the why in my business. I also know my own story helps my clients and my techniques are incredible useful to them and I want them to help you too.
I have so much content to share and I would love to know what you would like to hear through an anonymous 1 minute survey HERE please if you could.
Thanks and wishing you best of luck with your challenges.
Love Helen x
